4280 Lakewood is a Residential Multi-family low rise building constructed in Palm Springs Florida. The site consists of 4 buildings an 96 units in total, with each building containing 24 units. The units range from 2 bedrooms to 3 bedrooms, and orient around a central open air staircase. Architecturally, the building has several unique qualities. The design centers around expressed frames with colorful pastel accents, located centrally around the building’s open air staircase. The buildings are constructed using a series of stackable, Lego-like blocks made of re-purposed materials. These materials consist of composite glass fibers, resin and stone, and were designed to be stronger, less energy-intensive, and more affordable than traditional materials. These pre-molded blocks come together in an interlocking manner to create a structure that is efficient and cost effective.
